Caulking Iron
If you're building a carvel-planked (plank-on-frame) boat, you've gotta have some of these for driving the cotton between the planks.
Choose from three sizes:
Size 1 is 6" long with a blade thickness of approximately 1/8".Ā
Size 0 is 5-1/2" long with a blade thickness of approximately 1/16".Ā
Size 00 is about 5" long with a blade thickness of approximately 1/32".
Think in terms of steel wool... the more zeros, the finer, and the 1 is the thickest. Many folks do a little grinding on them to make them the ideal size for their project.
